Software products

Apex Communications functions as the representative of the international Transtel Communications Ltd in Finland and in the Baltic countries. We can provide all Transtel’s software products for the media field. Our product selection covers tools for reception of news sources, news production and distribution. The software services are offered as a cloud service from Apex Communications’ data centre, or in the customer’s own data centre, if they so wish. Apex Communications also produces the support services and training needed for the solutions.

Transtel NewsManager

NewsManager is a flexible and cost-effective tool for all media management situations. The software is designed especially for the editorial needs of newsrooms, but it is also suitable for efficient reception, editing and distribution of other communicative information content to end users.

NewsManager consists of the following operational modules:

• FrontDesk: a monitor view to the incoming stream of news sources, including pictures, sound, video and metadata, in addition to text. Editing news stories from the sources and creating new stories. Publications in a centralised manner and simultaneously in different versions online, for print, Twitter, SMS, playlists. Versatile search features, use of categorisation in publication of stories. Facilitating and enhancing group work with work-flow charts and management of user rights.
• WebDesk: a version of FrontDesk that can be used in a browser.
• RunDesk: attaching a publication e.g. to playlists
• CaptureDesk: recording a streaming of a radio and television broadcast on the user’s workstation and editing it.
